April 1 to April 8
Contact someone who does the motor pool at Buildings & Grounds and collect information on:
- Campus vehicles owned in addition to the ones used by Public Safety
- What do these vehicles run on?
- How often do the car tanks need to be filled?
Contact Residential Life Office, Dean of Students and Student Involvement to get information on:
- How many vans OWU owns
- Their mileage
- How often, if they have record of it, are these vans rented out.
April 8 to April 15
Collect information from students:
- How many students drive to or around campus?
- Of those who drive, how much distance do they cover per week/month?
- How many students own bicycles on campus? How many of them are members of the cycling club? How many students take advantage of the new Delaware bike trail?
- How many students use the Delaware Area Transit Agency (D.A.T.A.) buses and how often do they use it?
- How many students, if any, have used the DATA and COTA (Central Ohio Transit Authority) to go to Columbus?
Contact Delaware Area Transit Agency (DATA) and find out their schedule, routes and the number of buses they own (and what they run on).
April 16 to April 22
Do some research on using alternative fuel vehicles on campus and dig up information on converting existing vehicles into environment-friendly ones.
- Map routes used by Public Safety officers, Buildings and Grounds and any other University vans.
- Map out the Delaware bike trail. Map out the routes of students who move across campus using bicycles.
- Try to link DATA shuttles with potential campus shuttle(s). Map out the routes used by DATA bus and how this can be collaborated into starting a new public transportation system for OWU members.
April 22 to April 27
Catch up on work that I could not complete according to the timeline.
